Mather (was Mather's) is in Kingston Township, which would be in Cemetery Book I.
    See http://www.rootsweb.com/~wijuneau/jcgs.html
I did a check of JCGS Cemetery Book 1 and only one ROMACK and it appears to be your Benjamin ROMACK.
Hilltop Cemetery - Kingston Township, 15 miles W State 21 to Co Trunk H - go North (right) to Mather, about 10 miles. Cross Highway 173 at the stop sign in Mather, and take Cranberry Road N for another 5 miles - Cemetery on left. NOTE only 22 surnames in entire cemetery, as follows:
ACKERMAN ADRION BURNHAM COOPER DALSTROM FRY GAGE INGALLS LIBBEY LORD MOE NASON OLSEN PANZLOFF ROMACK SANBORN SHAW STEBBINS STUDENT STEVENS THAYER
    p29 listed alphabetically
ROMACK, Benjamin * PVT Co I 35 Regt Wis Inf Civil War
In addition, I did a search at JuneauCoWI http://www.rootsweb.com/~wijuneau and no ROMACK surname came up. It has a ton of data, so........ perhaps he used a different spelling? SO, I also checked for alternate spelling (with no luck) at:
    http://www.rootsweb.com/~wijuneau/DeathRtoS.htm and
    http://www.rootsweb.com/~wijuneau/ObitdeathsQtoR.html
Aha, looking at the map, Mather is right near the Monro county Border, Town of Scott - and not far from Jackson county, Town or Bear Bluff - perhaps you might check there for death certificate???
Here are some other clues that I found:

After reading this, am wondering HOW he ended up in JuneauCoWI, why wife three got the pension, and what happened to wife 3 (grin), as she outlived him and is not buried with him.

I am told that one of my ancestors, Benjamin ROMACK died in Mather, July 27, 1898. I do not, however, know if he was buried there, nor do I know which cemetery would be used in that area (hopefully only one).
I would greatly appreciate a look-up for any ROMACKs buried in that area. You are very kind to offer to do this.
    Thank you,
    Linda Williams

Benjamin was son of John Romack and Nancy Richards.
Various records indicate Benjamin was born from 1826 to 1829. We have two death dates: 26 July 1899 and 27 July 1898 and have no proof which one is correct.
Benjamin was married first to Mary Smith. They divorced in 1883. Benjamin then married Mrs. Ellen Rickman (maiden name unknown). Ellen died in 1897. Benjamin married a third time to Sethia Emeline Grider, who outlived him.
From U.S., Headstone Applications for Military Veterans, 1925-1963 for Benjamin Romack we find Benjamin Romack enlisted on 20 February 1864 in the US. Army, Co. "I", 35th Wisconsin Inf Regt. and was discharged on 14 October 1864. This record says they do not know his date of birth and his death date was left blank. The tombstone was ordered by Douglas B. Davenport - Vet. Service Officer - Court House-Room 210-Mauston-Wisconsin on 14 May 1958 and was to be erected in Oak Ridge Cemetery (now known as Meadow Valley Cemetery), Juneau County, Wisconsin.
