    John Humphrey of Brumfield Parish in the County of Culpeper being sick and weak. Unto my son James Humphrey the plantation whereon he now lives. Unto my son Benjamin Humphrey a parcel of land containing one hundred acres that I bought lately of Jeremiah Corbin being part of a tract of land whereon he lives and the said one hundred acres of land not being acknowledged to me my desire is that the said land be acknowledged to my said son Benjamin Humphry.
    Unto my aforesaid son James Humphry and Jesse Humphry two hundred acres of land laying in the great fork of Rappahannock River being part of a tract belonging to Alexander McQueen bounded by a tract belonging to Colo. Tutt and Capt. Yancey, equally divided betwixt my abovesaid two sons James and Jesse Humphry.
    Unto my son Jonathan Humphry the plantation whereon I now live. I give my wife the liberty to take any one of the abovesaid plantations to live upon whenever she pleases and which she pleases during her life time without any molestation.
    Unto my daughter Mary Humphry the corner cupboard that is fixt up in my house.
    Unto my wife Margret Humphrey all my household furniture and all the rest of my estate during her life and at her decease to be equally divided among my following children (viz) Benjamin, Jesse, Jonathan, Mary, Bathsheba, and Charity Humphry, and in case my wife should be with child at the time of my decease and the child should be born alive the said child to have an equal part of my estate with aforesaid six children.
    I likewise constitute my wife whole executrix during her life and my son James Humphry and my brother Willm. Humphry and Mr John Fitzchew executors after her decease.

    21 May 1767. Exhibited to the Court by Margaret Humphrey the executrix. Proved by the oath of John Roberts and William Daniel. James Humphrey son and heir at law came into Court and declared he had no objection to the probat thereof."
    NOTE: The John Roberts mentioned as witness married the widow!
