  • Warren W. Schoville was born in Bazetta, Trumbull Co., OH to Michael and Mary (Hull) Schoville. After becoming of age, he moved to Grant Co., WI and lived with his maternal grandparents, Wm and Elizabeth (Morford) Hull. His grandmother died in February of 1860. He worked in the lead mines in Lafayette County. On August 28, 1859 he married Rachel Jane Singles, daughter of James Singles. She was also from Ohio, being born Jul 24, 1842 in Muskingham County. Of this union there were 9 children born, but only 4 boys lived to adulthood, James, Henry, Harvey and Perley.
Warren W. Schoville was one of the early settlers near Soldiers Grove, Crawford Co., WI. In 1964 it was believed that he had more lineal descendents still residing in the area, than any of the other early settlers.
"Survey of the Scovils or Scovills in England and America" by Homer Worthington Brainard; copyright 1915 page 345, name listed as William Warren Scovill, son of (#265) Michael and Mary Hull Scovill.
