He was a private under Capt Charles Shackleford in the Virginia militia. Enlisted August 11, 1314 and disohar ed Dec 17 1814 Residence of widow in 18509 1853 in 1857 Ferry County Ohio 1872 and 1876 same county, In 1872 post office Oakfield, Ohio and 1878 in is Nov; Lexington Ohio. Her maiden name was Nancy Humphrey, and the married April 1 1815 in Virginia. Soldier died Larch 13 1846 in ferry county Ohio, and he widow died Doc 7 1883 DECLARATION made by Nancy Glass in Perry County Ohio Nov 7 1350 personally ap jeared aje 68 a resident of said county and state. States she is t e widow of Morgan Glass deed, who was a private in company of Capt Chs Shackelford in the first regt of Virginia militia under Ro. Crmtchfield in the war of 1312 that he volunteered about June 17 1314 for six months and continued in service for si:c months and was discharged at FREDERICKSBURG VIRGINIA Dec 17 1314c That she was married to Morgan Glass in Vir inia April or May 1315 by Reublin Finny a minister; that her maidn name was Nancy Humphry and her said husband died in Perry Co Ohio 13 March 1346 . She stated in 1853 that her husband was drafted in Culpepper Co Va Au 10 1314.- 2 affidavits '03 John Glass and Aaron &x Berry in Perry Cc Ohio 1853 were presort in the house of Benjamin Humphrey in C lpopper Co Va who was the father of Nancy Glass and saw them married. AFFIDAVITS OF BENJAMIN HUMPHREY AND POLLY HUMPHREY IN VERNON COUNTY WISCONSIN- 1873 Feb 7th stating they were present at the marriage of Morgan Glass to Nancy in Culpepper Co Va by Rev Findlay 1st May 1312 or 1813. Nancy Glass also made declaration 1372 in Perry Cc Ohio- age 81 o States Morgan Glass volunteered in Culpep or Co Va . and was discharged 1813. |
