DAR #765368 of Clarice Jewell Flinn Hardwick states that William Married Leah Spear. This is her lineage.
William is said to have served with Morgan's Riflemen in the Revolution. Daniel Morgan's unit of sharpshooters was organized in Virginia but they did range as far south as South Carolina.

p.94 State vs. William Flynn - ignoramus bill - Thomas Smith, prosecutor to pay costs
William and family moved to Shelby Co KY about 1807 then on to Lawrence Co Indiana with other members of the family. Said to have arrived in Indiana in Nov of 1811 and founded the town of Leesville, named for wife Leah. They had a Mill on Guthrie Creek. There were 13 children.
The Shelby Co KY census for 1810 had only two Flinns - Robert, age 16-26, with wife and two children under age 10, and William, age over 45; listed next to each other. William had two males age 16-26 and himself; 2 females under 10, 3 females age 10-16 and a spouse over 45. He would seem to be older than a birth year of 1760.
However, a William Flynn was also still in Surry Co, NC, in 1810, p. 680.
3m under 10, 1m over 45. 2f under 10, 2f 10-16, 1f 26-45.
In Johnson Co, IN in 1820 were the following Flinns:
George Flinn: 1m -10, 1m 10-16, 1m over 45. 1f 10-16, 1f 16-26, 1f over 45.
William Flinn Junr: 1m 26-45. 1f under 10, 1f 16-26.
Robert Flinn: 3m -10, 1m 10-16, 1m 26-45. 1f -10, 1f 10-16, 1f 26-45
Aaron Flinn: 1m 26-45. 1f 10-16, 1f 16-26, 1f over 45
a William Flinn Senr is found in Jackson Co IN: 1m 16-26, 1m over 45. 1f 10-16, 1f 16-26
Note: there is something very peculiar about the indexing of these two counties in Indiana on Ancestry. On the last image of Jackson Co is a summary of the county saying "Jackson Co" and on the first image of Johnson Co is a note saying "Johnson Co". I'm not sure they were divided properly. I believe the Flinns were actually in Jackson Co because that's where most of the marriages of the children took place.
The Lawrence Co IN Flinns in 1820 were Daniel, Jacob, and Martin Flinn.
In 1830, Lawrence Co IN:
William Flinn: 1m 30-40, 1m 60-70, 1f 60-70
Appears to be the Senior William with one son still living at home
and
William Flinn: 1m under 5, 1m 10-15, 1m 30-40. 1f under 5, 1f 5-10, 1f 10-15, 1f 30-40
There were 12 other Flinn families in Lawrence Co in 1830 to include William's brother Jacob. Jacob is known to have had a son William and the children in this family seem a bit too old for this to be William Jr.
William and Leah have graves at Flinn-Guthrie Cemetery, Lawrence Co IN [FindAGrave.com]
There are so many Flinn families living in this area, I would not presume to know for sure which ones belong to William and which to Jacob and whether or not some may different families altogether. Online databases for the Flynn family are very inaccurate - none seem to offer proof. I have included her children that married early on in Johnson Co, because it seems Jacob and family did not live there, or have been somewhat substantiated elsewhere. I've also included information from various online databases which seemed at least somewhat plausible. I'm sure it is not a definitive list.
William FLYNN and Leah SPEAR were married about 1782 in Surry County, North Carolina.14 Leah SPEAR was born in 1755 in Somerset County, Maryland.14 She died in 1853 at the age of 98 in Lawrence County, Indiana.14
Although one DAR application states that Leah was born the same place as William Flynn, another [#781717] gives her birthplace as Somerset Co, MD.
She is said to be the daughter of Andrew Speer and Elizabeth Gentry.

Mary "Polly" FLYNN was born circa 1786 in North Carolina. She died circa 1831 at the age of 45 in Lawrence County, Indiana.
Polly Flinn married John Spears, 12 May 1817, Jackson Co, IN. John Speer said to have died about 1857 in Lawrence Co IN.
There was an earlier marriage in Jackson Co - John Flinn to Mary Flinn, 17 Oct 1816. John is thought to be a son of Jacob, not William. Could John have married his first cousin, then died soon after? And Mary "Polly", still a Flinn, married again? In one place I saw that John's wife could have been Mary Guthrie Flinn.

William FLYNN Jr. was born in 1788 in Surry County, North Carolina. He died before 1830 at the age of 42 in Lawrence County, Indiana.
William Flinn Jr. married Sallie Houston, Jackson Co, IN, 2 Dec 1819.
In Johnson Co, IN in 1820:
William Flinn Junr: 1m 26-45. 1f under 10, 1f 16-26.
a William Flinn Senr is found in Jackson Co IN: 1m 16-26, 1m over 45. 1f 10-16, 1f 16-26
Note: there is something very peculiar about the indexing of these two counties in Indiana on Ancestry. I believe the Flinns were actually in Jackson Co because that's where most of the marriages of the children took place.
The William Flinns found in Lawrence Co in 1830 do not fit this man who married in 1819. One appears to be his father - age 60-70; another is age 30-40 but has both a son and a daughter who are age 10-15 - this William is likely the son of Jacob Flynn.
There is a database that says William Jr died circa 1830. And there is a widow Sarah Flinn in Lawrence Co in 1830 - she had two daughters under 5 and two age 5-10. William Jr seems to be the only Flinn of this age and in this place that married a Sarah or "Sallie". She was on the same page of the census as William Sr.
Databases do show four daughters born to William and Sarah. Julia Ann, b. 1820. Sarah b. 1821. Leah b. 1825, died 1845. Marilla, b. 1827.

Matthew FLYNN was born on 18 May 1795 in Virgina. He died on 4 May 1882 at the age of 86 in Washington County, Indiana.
Matthew is said to have married Martha Holliday. Perhaps she was a young widow because the record in Lawrence Co IN is Matthew Flinn to Martha Hopkins, 5 Dec 1833. The grave information from FindAGrave.com is that Matthew Flinn married Martha Martin, daughter of Alexander & Sarah Holliday Martin. They are both buried at Highland Friends Cemetery, Salem, Washington Co, IN
Martha was b. 26 Sep 1802, d. 28 Jan 1881.

Elizabeth FLYNN was born (date unknown).
Elizabeth Flinn married William Houston in Jackson Co IN 29 Mar 1819. She is not shown in all databases, but since William Flinn's family was at that time living in Jackson Co, and William Jr. married Sallie Houston, it seems likely she is a daughter. She isn't placed in the other Flinn families, either. One database even suggests she was married to Joseph Speer first before William Houston.
There is in the Jackson Co IN 1820 census:
William Houston: 1m age 26-45, 1f age 10-16, 1f age 26-45.
